Today Hallie & I threw a surprise bridal shower for our friend Andrea. Andrea & I met when we worked together at 24hr fitness. I am grateful that we have remained friends. Andrea will be getting married on July 1st at the coast witnessed by family. The party was a success, lots of great food, friends, & games. She got a lot of really nice gifts too.

Pool time

It was in the 80's today!! Yay! I decided to go out and buy a baby pool for the dogs to play in (and me). After I left the house and was in route to make my purchase I realized the pool may not fit in my car! Crap! I went to two stores and found the pool as I was on my way out of the second store. It barely fit in my car. I had to bend it, push it, pull it, but I made it work. I was so proud of myself when I got it all the way in the back seat.

The little ones had a lot of fun. The bull terriers don't love the water at all. I would put coax Gem & Radio into the pool but they would jump right out. Jetson and Vienna however, would sprint all around the yard chasing each other and then dive into the pool and drink the water. Once they were refreshed they would do it all over again.

Flashback Friday!!

Last year, Justin and I participated in a Bully Walk. An all English Bull Terrier walk at Portland's Waterfront Park. Justin & Radio are the third from the left. Radio got so many compliments on how well he walked on a leash etc. This event was so fun! BullyMania!

Gemmy didn't get to join us for this event because this was just a few weeks after her surgery for eating clothing, etc. I am so grateful that she recovered.

Unfortunately, the Bull Terrier Club has dispanded so we did not attend a Bully Walk this year.
Next Friday I will work on flashing a little further back in time. =)

Puppy Sitting

This is Vienna, she is 13 weeks old. I think she is a pointer/cattle dog mix. I met her when she was about 6 weeks old. One of my customers at work is a foster mom for the Oregon Humane Society. Vienna was rescued from a drug house situation. I believe the police raided the house because they had a tip that illegal activity was going on. Along with arresting people they found Vienna inside. My customer fostered her until she was old enough to have all of her shots/spayed before being available for adoption. My manager Teri fell in love with Vienna. As soon as she was old enough for a new home my manager jumped at the chance to take her home. Teri and her husband are going to Mexico for one week and asked us to watch Vienna. So far so good. She gets along with everyone (even the cats) She is a very well behaved little girl. It looks like a dog daycare in my living room though, lol. Vienna will be picked up Sunday the 28th. Teri & her husband name all of their animals after places. They have a Yorkie named Jamaica & a cat named India.

Flashback Friday!!

Every "blogger" seems to have a segment called "Flashback Friday". I figured might as well do my own.

This is Radio at about 3 months old. It was his first trip to the river. Little guy did not love the water at all, but he sure looked cute!!

10K

Today Angela (Justin's sister) ran her first 10K (6.2 mi). I didn't run but I went to support her and cheer her on. I know when I ran cross country having my family and friends watched always motivated me to do my best. She finished in 1 hr 3 min, that is just about a ten minute mile. Yay! After crossing the finish line the race coordinators were giving out tiny Jamba Juices.

I need to find a 10k or half marathon to train for. I miss the races.

Can you believe this???

I am knitting my first hat!!!! I am about halfway done. I will have enough yarn leftover to make a matching scarf. I know it doesn't look like much now, but you better believe there will be a picture of me wearing it on here the minute it is complete. YAY!!!

Movies

After dinner at the Grilled Cheese Grill we went to the movies with Hallie & Mike to see "The Hangover" it was hilarious!!!

Justin ordered a #1 at the concession stand. That is 1 large popcorn and 1 medium drinks.
To me it looks like 1 gigantic tub of popcorn and 2 ginormous drinks! It was so funny to watch him carry all of this I just HAD to take a picture.

Saturday Night Fun!

We at dinner at Grilled Cheese Grill. I love this place, it's inexpensive and creative. For all of you that know how I don't love cheese there is something about these sandwiches that I love. I ate "The Southsider" mozzarella on sourdough with mushrooms, artichoke hearts, & sundried tomato mmmmMmm.

Knit-a-Thon!

Last night, Hallie, Andrea, I went to Kathy's Knit Korner in Hillsboro for a Knit-a-thon.  It started at 6am Friday and went until 6am today. Woman were knitting to get donations to support research to find a cure for Cancer. The girls and I showed up at 8pm. We knitted until our hands hurt and our eyes crossed. We finally called it quits at 2am. I think we were all pretty proud of lasting that long. Hallie and I had never knitting anything with a real shape and last night the lady from the shop, Mary taught Hallie and I how to knit a hat. We picked out a fairly detailed pattern and besides "knitting in the round" we learned 3 or 4 stitches that we didn't have a clue before. We would look at the abbreviations on the pattern (ssk, psso, k2tog) and say "what the heck does that mean!?" Now we know, Yay!!!
Andrea is already a step ahead of us, she finished her first sock last night! She was so proud of herself, as she should be. It looked great. She even tried it on and modeled it for us. We all had a great time. I went to bed at 2:30a and in every single dream I was knitting. I woke up thinking about knitting. I think after I finish writing this I am going to go knit some more.
Stephie-I will have to make you a cute hat a matching scarf for xmas.

Boggle

This past weekend Justin and I played Boggle. It's basically the ultimate word search game. You try to find the most words with 3 letters or more going any which way, as long as the cubes are touching and you don't use the same cube twice in one word you're good.
This is what I found:
TENT; TENTS; WENT; SEA; TEN; ATE; SEAT; EATEN; EAT; SET; TEA; ANT; TEST; JET; JETS; HEN

What did you come up with?

Oh boy...

I bought the dogs a nice new toy bin Sunday. I filled it with toys new and old. Within 15 minutes when I was out of the room Radio decided he really wanted to chew the bin instead of the toys. BAD DOG!
