Oh Gemmy!
This girl LOVED the beach. She turned into a puppy again as soon as her toes felt the sand.

Back from the Coast!
We had a great time at the coast. Yesterday was a little rainy outside (go figure). It cleared up by the evening and we were able to take the dogs out to the beach and enjoy the outdoors. During the day we went to all the little shops. Of course I found a yarn store! I was in hog heaven =) I caved in and bought some yarn, I guess I will consider it my souvenir from my trip. I will knit something nice just for me. Since the weather wasn't so great during the day we drove up to Seaside, Or. about 15 minutes away and had lunch at a sushi restaurant and then walked around the shops. Justin found a candy/fudge shop. It was so cute he was literally like a kid in a candy store. That boy spent $27 dollars on fudge, caramel apples, chocolate covered rice krispy treats, lol we have sweets for days. It was so great to see his face light up see all of the sweet treats.
I really enjoyed the Inn at Cannon Beach. We had a great room, they were very nice and accommodating. The dogs were allowed in the lobby and all of the common areas. The staff greeted the dogs with treats when we came in. Our room had 3 doggy baskets with treats, towels, bowls, and doo doo bags.
Today after we checked out we ate at a little cafe on the patio with the dogs and then headed home. We are unpacked and the dogs got bathed. Time to relax.
P.s. Today is Justin's 30th birthday, we will have cake and watch movies tonight.
Oh and as promised I started knitting the "peaks & valley" scarf that is pictured near the bottom of my blog. So far so good! Can't wait to post a picture of it.

Cannon Beach, Oregon
On our way out of Portland we made a pit stop at a dog park about a half hour from home so the dogs could get out all of their energy for the rest of the ride (1.5 hrs total) As soon as we left the park all three were sleeping in the back seat. It was pretty cute.
We arrived at the Inn about 5 o'clock, unloaded everything then headed to town for a pizza dinner. The weather was really great! Sunny and high 60's, we ate our pizza on the patio of the restaurant with the dogs at our feet. After dinner, we walked down to the beach and let the dogs romp. The picture is of Haystack Rock basically the land mark of Cannon Beach. It's huge! I got some really good pictures of us + dogs with the rock in the background.

Ah, finally!
Vacation is here! Finishing up work today felt like the last day of school all over again. I am looking forward to having a whole week off of work. When we get back from the coast I will need to do some "Spring" cleaning around the house. It is supposed to be beautiful weather all week. Justin has the next two weeks off, it will be nice to spend a little extra time with him.

Knitting

I borrowed this picture from someone's blog. I was searching new scarf patterns and came across this one. I am going to pick a different yarn color. I really love the texture of the zig zag pattern. Seems easy enough too. Look out, it may be a Christmas present for one of you! I will bring this pattern to the coast with me :)
